On Friday (24/04), the 20cm-long knife used in the murder of the 27-year-old was found in a park in St Demetrios.
The knife, of Cretan type, was found on the roof of the perpetrator’s house, following a suggestion from him. According to information, the 20-year-old had hidden it behind a water heater.
A 21-year-old friend of his, who was also arrested and charged with harboring a criminal, told police that the perpetrator changed his clothes and vehicle after the crime, trying to cover his tracks.
When questioned at the Homicide Department, the 20-year-old allegedly expressed remorse, stating: “I didn’t mean to kill him. I wish I could turn back the clock.”
The victim was not trying to kill himself.
The 21-year-old, for his part, claimed he was unaware his friend had brought a knife and that he did not have time to react.

The Organized Crime Prevention Directorate has solved the case of the homicide of a 27-year-old domestic citizen, which took place in the evening hours of 22-04-2026, at the park Asirmatou in Agios Dimitrios, Attica.
After an investigation by the Department of Crimes against Life and Personal Freedom of the Sub-Directorate of Crimes against Life and Property, a total of -4- nationals (two men 20 and 21 years old and two 20-year-old women) were arrested for the case, against whom a case file was formed for manslaughter with malice aforethought, aiding and abetting a criminal, as well as violation of the legislation on weapons.
A thorough investigation was conducted, in the context of which data and findings were evaluated and evaluated, from the further analysis of which the 20-year-old man was identified as the alleged perpetrator of the homicide, while the 21-year-old man and the two women were also charged with aiding and abetting a criminal.
As part of the preliminary investigation, the knife used to commit the homicide was located and seized, while the motive for the act was also discerned.
The arrested persons were taken to the competent prosecuting authorities.
They have been charged to the police and the police authorities.
