The murder of 27-year-old Theophilus in Asymatou Park, Agios Dimitrios, where a 20-year-old man allegedly fatally stabbed him in the heart, has caused shock.
Attorney Nikos Ioannou, who represents the two 20-year-olds who are accused of harboring a criminal, described the developments and the role of one of the young women in uncovering the case.
According to the report, the 20-year-old knew about the planned rendezvous between her partner and her ex, but had repeatedly tried to dissuade him from going. She claims he later assured her – both by phone and in a subsequent meeting with a mutual friend – that the 27-year-old never showed up.
The young woman was reportedly unaware of the murder for some time and became aware of what had happened when she was informed by her mother, who had already been informed of the incident and tried to convey it to her in a careful manner.
As the lawyer described, the 20-year-old visited him in shock and then they went together to the Attica General Police Directorate, where she testified for hours, giving detailed information about the case. The second accused girl did the same.
According to Mr. Ioannou, the young woman’s testimony was instrumental in unravelling the case, as she revealed what she knew, while stressing that she is a person who is experiencing intense psychological stress from the developments.
The authorities are continuing their investigation, examining all the facts surrounding the case, which remains very serious and complex.
