In an atmosphere of sadness, the 43-year-old Eleftheria Giakoumaki, who was murdered by her former partner, is currently being buried in Dafnes, Heraklion.

Relatives, friends and a crowd of people bid farewell to the unfortunate woman , who was left by the hand of her 39-year-old ex-partner, leaving behind three children.

The villagers left white roses wanting to say goodbye to Freedom.

The funeral service is held at the Holy Church of St. George in Dafnes.
