Cocaine weighing more than a kilo was found in the trunk of a car in Thessaloniki, with the assistance of a police drug-sniffing dog, which “uncovered” the carefully hidden package.
A foreigner was arrested for the case last 24 hours by officers of the Polygyros Crime Detection and Investigation Department.
The accused had been spotted earlier approaching a parked vehicle, attempting to enter it with a key he possessed, which caused the immediate mobilization of the Narcotics Squad. In the investigation that followed, the police dog “Akilas” of the Halkidiki Police Directorate detected the drug substance in the trunk – a package of cocaine weighing 1 kilogram and 118 grams.
The arrested man is being taken, with the case file against him, to the criminal prosecutor.
