The 23-year-old man arrested and detained in the death of a 19-year-old girl in Kefalonia is speaking out for the first time. Speaking from jail, he said he had known Myrto for the past 1.5 years and spoke about the 66-year-old’s role in the case.
Unanswered questions continue to be raised about what happened on the fateful night at the hotel in Kefalonia where the 19-year-old girl lost consciousness and eventually died, alone, in the square. The 3 arrested men continue to blame each other, while Myrto’s father continues to claim that his child was trapped by a pimping or drug trafficking ring. Meanwhile, authorities have asked for the phone privacy on the 19-year-old’s cellphone to be lifted in an attempt to get more information from the 19-year-old’s phone calls days before she passed away.
The 23-year-old trans man spoke for the first time to ANT1, claiming he was not involved in any pimping ring and that the 19-year-old was his friend. About what happened in the hotel room, he claimed he disguised himself and put on make-up to have a video call with the 19-year-old and the 66-year-old.
It is reported that the 66-year-old was the man who had sent money to the 19-year-old and allegedly used it to buy the cocaine.
It was explained that the 66-year-old had a sexual relationship with the 44-year-old trans woman from Athens who even introduced him to him.
He said he called the ambulance to pick up the 19-year-old and then returned to the room to take off his women’s clothes and undress.
“I don’t belong to any circuit or criminal organisation. Myrto and I met a year and a half ago at a wedding in Kefalonia and we started hanging out. At Easter I went to my village in Kefalonia and met with Myrto 2-3 times for coffee and drinks,” she said, initially denying the 19-year-old’s father had known her for the last 1.5 months.
“The night I went with Myrto to the room, I disguised myself, put on a wig and put on make-up because we were going to have a video call with the 66-year-old. I met the 66-year-old man through the 40-year-old trans woman in Athens. The two of them were having an affair. I called the ambulance and the 26-year-old (weightlifting champion) spoke from my mobile phone,” he continued.
“I stayed in the room to take off the wig, clothes and also to get undressed. Myrto was my friend and all the rumours about pimping are not true,” he concluded.
Recall that the 23-year-old, after Myrto’s death and her transfer to the square of Argostoli, returned to the room and collected evidence and the quantities of cocaine they had left to cover their tracks. He even hid the 19-year-old’s mobile phone.
Authorities are awaiting histological and toxicology tests on Myrto’s body to determine the exact cause of her death.
