Summer images were recorded yesterday in the southern suburbs, where Athenians and tourists took advantage of the sunshine and high temperatures for the season.

The first dives in the southern suburbs
A scene reminiscent of July was witnessed in the southern suburbs of Attica, with many Athenians and tourists heading to the beaches. The sunshine and the warm atmosphere led many to try the first dives of the year, while others preferred sunbathing.

In Alimos, the beach front was particularly busy from the morning. The scene was reminiscent of a weekend in the heart of summer, with people enjoying the sea, the sun and the warm day.

Where the temperature reached in Attica
According to data from the National Observatory of Athens, temperatures in several areas of the country were high for the season. In Attica, by 16:30, 23.4°C was recorded in the southern suburbs, specifically at the Paleo Faliro station.

In other parts of the country, the mercury rose even higher, approaching 30 degrees. The highest temperatures were recorded in Pyrgos, Ilia (27.4°C), Oleni, Ilia (27.1°C), Prosfigika, Patras (26.9°C), Skala, Messinia (26.4°C) and Skala, Laconia (26.4°C).

How will the weather be today
The weather will be spring-like today, Sunday 19/04/04, with temperatures in the same range as Saturday.

In the Ionian Sea, the mainland and the area of Kastellorizo, a few clouds, partly cloudy, mainly in the midday-afternoon hours with local rain or occasional rain mainly in the mountains. In the rest of the country the weather will be almost clear with a few clouds in northern Crete and the northern Aegean.

Winds will blow in the west, central and north from southerly directions 3 to 4 Beaufort. In other areas from northerly directions 4 to 5 Beaufort, in the Aegean Sea 6 and in the southeast up to 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will not change significantly. It will reach in most areas 19 to 21 degrees Celsius, in the Dodecanese and the eastern mainland 22 and locally in the west 23 degrees Celsius.
From Tuesday, a significant rise in temperature is expected, however, 3-4 degrees Celsius in several areas, as well as a low concentration of dust.
