A case of extortion against a company manager in the area of Thessaloniki has been solved by the Anti-Organized Crime Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece. A case was filed against them for aggravated extortion, violence against employees, insubordination, supplying a prisoner with a mobile phone and violation of the weapons law.

Then, in a later communication with a different perpetrator who had assumed the role of “negotiator”, the amount was reduced to 100,000 euros, expressing new threats against his life. In fact, two persons, with their features covered, rode on a two-wheeled motorcycle to his workplace, where they threatened an employee in order to cause terror to their victim.
In this context, a police operation was organized and implemented, during which, in a pre-arranged meeting with three of the perpetrators, the marked amount of 50,000 euros was handed over. Immediately, police officers intervened and immobilized them, despite their fierce resistance in order to escape.

At the same time, police officers of the Doris police station of Fokida proceeded to search the detention cell of the prisoner, who refused to comply with the control, during which three mobile phones and a homemade knife were found and seized.
It is noted that three of those arrested, including the inmate, have been previously employed for – on occasion – similar and other serious offences, such as homicide and attempted homicide. The arrested persons are being taken to the competent prosecuting authority, while the seized goods will be sent to the Criminal Investigation Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece for laboratory examination.
