Disruption was caused in the area of Kerasia Evia, as a man got his car stuck in a muddy area.

The incident immediately mobilised local authorities and led to a rescue operation in difficult conditions.

According to evima.gr, the man, originally from Portugal, reportedly lost his bearings, which resulted in him being stranded in an inaccessible part of the area. The situation quickly turned dangerous, as the terrain did not allow him to move safely.

Police forces from Limni quickly arrived at the scene, while Deputy Mayor Dimitris Margaritis also took part in the operation. While, crucial was the contribution of a firefighter, who, although off duty, immediately rushed to help, using his knowledge of the area.

The firefighter, in cooperation with the deputy mayor, managed to find the trapped man inside the swamp and guide the rest of the forces to the exact spot. The operation was successfully completed as the man was safely extricated.

According to initial reports, his health is good and he does not have any serious injuries. The cause of the incident is being investigated by the relevant authorities.
