Three incidents with migrants in the south of Crete – A total of 94 people are transported to Kalou Limenes

Three separate rescue and transport operations have been underway in recent hours for migrants found in boats in sea areas south of Kales Limenes. A total of 94 people are expected to be transported to Kalou Limenes and from there to a temporary holding area in Heraklion.

In the first incident, a FRONTEX vessel with the assistance of a drone spotted 44 n.A second boat with 22 people was spotted by a rescue boat of the Coast Guard and a drone a few hours later in a sea area 45 nm southeast of Kales Ports. The third boat with 35 people on board was spotted by a FRONTEX vessel and a drone at about 55 nautical miles also southeast of Kales Ports.
