A 42-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of a 64-year-old man whose body was found in a stream among reeds in Eukarpia, Thessaloniki, yesterday at noon on Good Saturday (11.4.26).

The 64-year-old man was found dead by a passerby under a bridge near a stream in the Eukarpia area of Thessaloniki, while a case has been filed against the 42-year-old man accused of the murder for manslaughter with malice.

It is noted that during the autopsy conducted at the scene of the crime it was found that the body had serious injuries to the head, while the autopsy – autopsy revealed that these came from a sharp object.

The investigation revealed that the murder occurred at the victim’s home and the body was carried and thrown from the bridge to where it was found.

The statement of the National Police on the murder

The Department of Prosecution of Crimes against Life and Property of the Sub-Directorate of Organized Crime of Northern Greece, with the assistance of the Sub-Directorate of Criminal Investigations of Northern Greece, has solved the case of the homicide of a 64-year-old domestic citizen, which was committed in the early morning hours of April 11, 2026, in Thessaloniki.

A 42-year-old Greek citizen was arrested for the case, against whom a case was filed for manslaughter with malice. Specifically, as to the background of the case, in the morning hours of 11-4-2026, the 64-year-old was found dead by a passing person, under a bridge near a stream, in an area of Thessaloniki.

During the autopsy conducted at the scene of the crime it was found that the body had crushing injuries in the head area, while the autopsy – autopsy revealed that these came from a dolphin organ.

Further, the investigation revealed that the homicide took place inside his home and then his body was transported and dumped from the bridge to where it was found.

From the combined evaluation of information and findings, as well as the subsequent actions of officers from the Office Against Life and Personal Liberty, the defendant was immediately located.

Subsequently, the defendant’s involvement in the case was certified by the combined evaluation of data obtained from the on-site laboratory examinations of the police officers of the Criminal Investigations Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece, the discovery of items in his possession that were linked to the crime scene, as well as by his forensic examination.
