An escalating chase of burglars with shots fired by police officers occurred on Good Friday evening in Vari.
Specifically, according to the ELAS, shortly before 9.00 in the evening, three unknown perpetrators entered a house, located on Sifnos Street, breaking the window of the first floor, and removed a sum of money amounting to approximately 5,000 euros, while they fled in a white SUV.
According to the police, the driver of the car moved threateningly against them to ram the police motorcycles and a policeman fired three times towards the tyres of the perpetrators’ car to immobilise them.
The offenders eventually managed to escape. Three shell casings from the officer’s shots were found at the scene. A police investigation is underway to locate and arrest the perpetrators.
