A burglary took place in a third-floor apartment on Sifnos Street, in Vari, last night Good Friday (10/04/2026) when three people entered the premises through a window and extracted around 5,000 euros, then fled in a white SUV.
Following investigations, police officers of the IS team located the suspect vehicle with the burglars in Vari at the intersection of 2as Merarchias and Haravgi streets.
According to police, when they tried to approach the vehicle, the driver moved threateningly towards them, trying to ram them.
One officer used his service weapon, firing three shots at the tyres to immobilise the vehicle.
However, despite the shooting, the offenders escaped and are being sought.
Three shell casings were recovered at the scene and authorities’ investigations are in full swing to locate and arrest them
