Only a few hours are left for the arrival of the Holy Light in our country, following the opening of the Holy Places in the Old City of Jerusalem after 41 days.
With reverence, worshippers crossed the stone walls and prayed for peace in the region yesterday Good Friday, while Israeli police said they would take very strict measures to ensure the safety of worshippers at the Holy Light ceremony.
Israel: Holy Light ceremony in Jerusalem continues as normal

Israel’s Foreign Ministry has informed the ambassadors of the concerned states that it has been decided to hold the ceremony today, Holy Saturday, as normal.
Since Iran has halted its missile launches it was deemed safe to hold the ceremony at the Temple of Resurrection.
Israel had announced earlier this week that the ceremony would be held with security measures in place, allowing up to 50 people to attend.
The Holy Light is coming to Greece – the process of transport
The Greek government has confirmed that it will again this year ensure its presence at the Holy Light ceremony in Jerusalem, even under emergency conditions, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Yannis Loverdos.
“On Holy Saturday morning we will depart on a special flight to Tel Aviv and from there by road to Jerusalem,” he said, adding that after the ceremony, the Patriarch will hand over the Holy Light to the Greek delegation in a short ceremony. The return to Athens will be by government aircraft, with an estimated arrival time of around 7 p.m., so that airlines can distribute it throughout the country before midnight.

When the Holy Light arrives at “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport, it will be distributed via scheduled and unscheduled special flights of AEGEAN and Olympic Air to 11 destinations.

- Athens – Ioannina: A3 166, 20:10 – 21:25

The Holy Light will arrive in Cyprus on a special AEGEAN flight

The Holy Light will travel from Jerusalem to Cyprus on an extraordinary special AEGEAN flight this Holy Saturday afternoon, carrying the message of Resurrection and hope to every corner of the island.
According to an announcement by AEGEAN, the flight is expected to arrive at Larnaca’s “Glafkos Clerides” airport from Tel Aviv at 17:00 accompanied by representatives of the Exarchate of the Holy Sepulchre in Cyprus who will arrange for its official reception and distribution to the churches.
