Aris Mugopetros appeared live on Alpha’s main newscast with Maria Nikoltsiou on Good Friday afternoon (10/4), sending a clear message to parents about the dangers of firecrackers and fireworks, based on a previous report.

The virtuoso clarinet musician reflected on his personal experience, noting that, one year on, the situation remains the same in terms of the dangers of firecrackers and fireworks, but he is ready to return.

“It makes me very sad that nothing has changed, even though a year has passed. Even in my village I see that nothing has changed. Things are as we left them,” he said.

He particularly stood on the responsibility of parents, saying: “As a parent, I would say they better take care of what their children get their hands on if they don’t want to see their children’s hand… because that’s where the harm starts,” he noted, pointing to his amputated fingers.

He concluded: “We are in the home stretch for me to return. I’m playing like I’ve been playing and trying to play better. I owe it to the world, my daughters and myself.”
