A woman involved in a case of fraud against an elderly man was arrested in the act by officers of the Department of Crime Prevention and Suppression of the Directorate of Crime Prevention and Investigation of Thessaloniki.
It was a 23-year-old domestic, who according to the case file, together with two other accomplices, pretending to be accountants, persuaded an 83-year-old domestic to go to a bank branch in the area of Neapolis and withdraw a sum of money of 5,000 euros, which would be delivered to a person waiting at the entrance of the apartment building where he lives.
The elderly man went to the bank, from where the Rapid Action call centre was informed about the fraud in progress. Police officers immediately attended the victim’s home, where they located and arrested the 23-year-old woman.
It is noted that the previous day, the perpetrators, in the same way, managed to extract from the 83-year-old the sum of 10,000 euros and jewelry. The arrested woman will be taken to the competent prosecutor.
