Beloved actor Dimitris Kallivokas has expressed his wish not to be in a wheelchair, facing many difficulties at the age of 97.
The actor, who was loved by the public through his great performances in the films of the golden era of Greek cinema, spoke to “Espresso” and did not hesitate to say that he would like to leave this life, as he can no longer bear to be in a wheelchair most of the day, and as he said, he would like a “quiet end”.

“I am tired and no longer wish to be on a wheelchair most of the day. I am looking for a way to get out of life. Even if I wanted to fall off the Citadel someone would have to carry me there. And I don’t think someone will. I’m already 97 years old. I’m not interested in living any longer,” Dimitris Kallivokas said.
Still, the actor spoke about the loneliness he feels, as most of his acquaintances have passed away, some people don’t communicate with him, while the fact that he no longer has his wife Ioanna close to him has affected him a lot.

He and his wife Joanna have been together for many decades, but because she too has health problems, he has been living in a nursing home for the last few years. But apart from Ioanna herself, Dimitris Kallivokas said he has missed her, and he has missed things they used to do together.

“Every Easter we used to go to the cottage in Tinos, bake with Ioanna and have a nice time in the sea where we would go together, hand in hand. Now we both can’t make that trip. But, believe me, I don’t want to complain, I just want to go out of life quietly,” the actor said.
