The police managed to deal a significant blow to drug trafficking in the wider Lamia area by arresting four people who allegedly participated in an organized trafficking ring.
The arrests were made on Wednesday afternoon (8/4/2026), following a coordinated operation by police officers of the Narcotics Department of the Lamia Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Detection of Crimes, with the assistance of forces of the Police and the Prevention and Mediation Team (O.P.P.DI.).
According to a statement from the General Police Directorate of Central Greece, the accused were under discreet surveillance for a long period of time. Through the use of evidence and the methodical investigation of the authorities, it was possible to completely dismantle the criminal organization, which was systematically active in the supply, possession, storage and trafficking of drugs.
During searches conducted at the homes, business premises and vehicles of the arrested persons, a large number of items of evidence were located and seized. These included quantities of raw cannabis with a total gross weight of 2 kilograms and 927.4 grams, a small quantity of cocaine, narcotics and anabolic tablets, as well as equipment related to trafficking, such as precision scales and cannabis grinders.
In addition, officers located weapons and dangerous items, including a pistol with a magazine and cartridges, iron rods, a bat, pepper spray and a naval flare. A sum of 3,000 euros in cash, mobile phones, SIM cards, smartwatches and handwritten notes believed to be related to the activities of the ring were also seized.
Two private cars and two two-wheeled motorcycles were also seized as means of facilitating the illegal activity.
A felony case was formed against the four arrested persons by the Lamia Sub-Directorate of Crime Investigation and Detection. The accused were brought at noon on Great Thursday (9/4/2026) before the Prosecutor of the Lamia District Court, who referred them to main interrogation.
Before the interrogator, the arrested persons requested and received a deadline to apologize on the morning of Great Saturday, April 11.
