Industrial output in the country rose 1.8% in February this year, while only manufacturing output was up, rising 2.9%.

According to ELSTAT, the general index of industrial production showed a 1.8% increase in February 2026 compared to the corresponding index of February 2025, compared to a 6.7% increase in the corresponding comparison between 2025 and 2024.

This increase was driven by the following changes in individual industry sector indicators:

From the increase:

– By 2.9% of the manufacturing index. The largest percentage increase was recorded in the manufacture of other transport equipment sector.

– By 1% of the water supply index.

– By 1.4% of the electricity supply index.

– By 1.4% of the electricity supply index.

– By 8.4% of the mining and quarrying index.

– By 8.4% of the mining and quarrying index.

In the first two months, the average general index increased 3.6% compared to the January-February 2025 index, while the seasonally adjusted general index decreased 0.9% in February 2026 compared to the January 2026 index.
