A shocking incident occurred on a bus route to Volos, as a 40-year-old man of Nepalese origin was charged with the offence of indecent assault on a 17-year-old girl.
More specifically, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon on Great Tuesday (7/4/2026) on a bus route from Athens to Volos. The accused allegedly, while intoxicated, as the 17-year-old girl complained, stroked her leg above the knee.
The minor immediately informed the bus driver, who alerted police. Officers arrested the 40-year-old as soon as the vehicle arrived at the terminal, as part of an autopsy.
During the hearing, the court adjourned the case to tomorrow (9/4/2026) Maundy Thursday , so that an Indian language (Hindi) translator could be called and present to ensure proper preparation of the accused’s plea and full understanding of the proceedings.
