This morning, Tuesday, the Deputy Minister of Health, Irene Agapidaki, visited the Christodoulion Children’s Protection Foundation in the area of Western Athens.
More specifically, Mrs Agapidaki sent a message of care, solidarity and substantial support to the 18 girls growing up under the care of the institution, due to the Easter holidays.
During her presence at the Foundation’s premises in Haidari, Mrs Agapidaki exchanged greetings with the people of the structure, the volunteers and the children who are hosted there, and stressed, among other things, that “the State and society as a whole must stand by initiatives that serve with consistency and sensitivity the protection of children, especially those who have been faced with difficult circumstances.”
It is noted that a total of 18 girls, aged between 5 and 26 years old, are hosted at the Foundation, living there until they finish their studies and are able to stand independently in their professional and personal lives. Some of them, in fact, are already pursuing high goals, studying in higher schools such as medicine, a fact that clearly illustrates how the love and care they receive can turn into strength, perspective and a strong life path.

The Deputy Minister of Health gave shoes and candles to the girls, wishing them a happy Easter with health, love and optimism. At the same time, she stressed that such actions “consistently and sensitively serve to protect children. Support to those in need cannot be occasional, it must be constant, substantial, lasting and the State will stand by these efforts.”
With a history dating back to 1943, during the “stone” years of the Occupation, the Christodoulion Foundation is a timeless hive of care and protection for children. Its origins are linked to Fr. Apostolos Christodoulos’ initiative to offer support to children in need, and more than seven decades later, the Foundation continues to consistently serve the same mission: to provide love, security, stability and the tools for a strong life path.
