Fuel Pass applications open on Monday, April 6, with the platform accepting applications until April 30. This is a financial assistance that covers April and May, based on the ministerial decision published in the Government Gazette.
Criteria for eligibility and beneficiaries of the Fuel Pass
The allowance is available to natural persons, including freelancers, who have their tax residence in Greece. The basic condition is the declared family income for 2024, which must not exceed 25,000 euros for unmarried persons and 35,000 euros for married persons or those in a civil partnership. These limits are increased by 5,000 euros for each dependent child, while in the case of single-parent families the income limit is 39,000 euros, with the corresponding increase for each child.
Determination of the subsidy amount
The amount of the subsidy varies depending on the area of residence and the payment method. In particular, for car owners in island and remote areas, the subsidy amounts to €60 using a digital card and €50 by bank deposit. In the rest of Greece, these amounts are set at €50 and €40 respectively. As for motorcycle owners, the subsidy ranges between 35 and 30 euros for special areas, while for the rest of Greece it is between 30 and 25 euros, depending on the method of payment.
It is noted that each vehicle can be declared by only one natural person who has full ownership, co-ownership or is a lessee through a leasing agreement.
Instructions and submission steps
Through the online platform vouchers.gov.gr and using the personal Taxisnet codes, applications are submitted. After entering the system, beneficiaries will have to update or confirm their details by indicating their bank account for direct deposit or by choosing to issue a digital debit card to credit the amount.
The necessary data, such as income, vehicle insurance and payment of road tax, are automatically extracted from the system. Finally, the submission process can also be handled through the KEPs, either with authorization or with the physical presence of the person concerned.
The payment of the aid is made within two working days of the approval of the application. The amount credited to the digital card can be used not only for fuel, but also for travel by public transport, taxis and rail, and the card will remain active until 31 July 2026.
