A few hours after the conclusion of the second day of the trial on the tragedy in Tempi, Maria Karystianou announced the foundation of a new political party called “We are starting”.
In a post on social media, Maria Karystianou said that “we start on the first of the month, aiming to lead the way in action for Truth and Justice. From “I” we pass to “We”, because there are moments in the history of a place where silence becomes heavier than injustice itself.”
And the statement continues:
There are moments in the history of a place where silence becomes heavier than injustice itself. In such a moment, we have chosen to speak out.
Not because it is easy, but because it is the only thing that can keep us standing and keep HOPE alive.
This movement was not born in barren places. It was born in the hearts of people who refused to compromise with the rot.
We start today as an impenetrable HOPE of TRUTH, JUSTICE & DIGNITY.
We lovingly await you on the front lines! For justice, when pursued with faith and unity , never loses!
