The meeting between Minister of Migration and Asylum Thanos Pleyris and the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Athens, Pham Thi Tu Huong, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of legal migration.
The discussion focused on the negotiations for the conclusion of a bilateral agreement, which will provide for the creation of an organised legal migration channel and the recruitment of Vietnamese workers to meet the needs of the Greek economy in sectors such as agriculture, tourism and construction.
The two sides agreed to continue contacts at a technical level in order to move forward with the relevant procedures, a statement from the Ministry of Migration and Asylum said.
