A plan for a new model Dementia Centre was presented by Adonis Georgiades, who visited the Karellio Foundation together with Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece.

The Health Minister in a video posted on social media recalled that the Karellio Foundation was granted in 2011 by the Archdiocese of Athens, on the initiative of Archbishop Ieronymos, for the creation of a Model Dementia Centre under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The center was inaugurated in 2013, during the previous term of the minister, and has since been funded by the ministry, operating in collaboration with the Church of Greece’s “Mission” and Mr Dimtsas.

During his visit, Adonis Georgiades noted the excellent condition of the structure and congratulated the staff for their work.

In addition, he announced that the Ministry of Health and the Church of Greece are proceeding with the planning of an even larger similar centre in Western Athens, a project undertaken by the Deputy Minister of Health, Irini Agapidaki.

“We will leave no one behind alone,”

the minister noted in his post.
