The clock is ticking for the start of Fuel Pass applications through the gov.gr platform, with the aim of making payments before Easter, i.e. before April 12. However, the timeline is considered challenging due to bank holidays and limited working days.

The Legislative Act containing the new support measures, such as the Fuel Pass and the subsidy on diesel, is being introduced for debate in Parliament and is expected to be passed immediately.

The fuel subsidy for the April-May two months will be given through a digital card, with the process requiring collaboration with banks and development of a special platform. Meanwhile, a 20 cents per litre reduction in excise duty on diesel will come into effect from April 1, which will be fully reflected in prices within a few days.

Eligible beneficiaries are natural persons, including self-employed persons, with income criteria of up to €25,000 for unmarried persons and €35,000 for married persons, with surcharges for children. Applications will be made with Taxisnet codes and the aid will be given either through a digital card or a bank account deposit.

The amount of subsidy will vary depending on the region and vehicle, with higher aid for those using the digital card.
