The Deputy Minister of Tourism Anna Karamanli attended the celebration of 25 March in Kalavrita, representing the government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Mrs. Papadopoulos and other dignitaries, went first to the Panhellenic Memorial of the National War of Independence, where a triumphal ceremony was held and a wreath-laying ceremony took place.
Then, in the courtyard of the Holy Monastery of Agia Lavra, he attended the traditional praise service, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aigialia, Mr. Ieronymos and the rector of the Holy Monastery, Archimandrite Fr. Evsevios.
In the context of her visit to Kalavrita, the Deputy Minister said:
“Representing the Greek Government and the Prime Minister in Kalavrita, the historic cradle of the Revolution, we commemorate today the 25th of March. A day of faith and national pride. With unity, faith and respect for our values, we will continue to honour our ancestors, who sacrificed themselves so that we may live free. Happy Birthday, Greece!”
