The anniversary of the 1821 Revolution was commemorated in Thessaloniki with a parade of representative student, civilian and military sections on Megalo Alexandrou Avenue.
“On such days we must always think of those who gave us our most precious possession, our freedom. A freedom that is not only a right for us, but above all an obligation to keep it intact and to pass it on to future generations. A Greece stronger, more prosperous. And especially today, in this turbulent period in which we are going through, in a turbulent region with wars, it is very important that Greece projects itself as an island of security and stability in the region. The Greek people are upgrading the armed forces from their own resources. Through agreements and treaties, Greece is increasing its power and is thus in a position to fully safeguard its peace and territorial integrity. Happy Birthday to our Greece,” said Deputy Minister of Interior (Macedonia and Thrace) Kostas Gioulekas, who attended the parade representing Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the government.
