A post on the national anniversary of March 25 was made by US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle, choosing to link the historical memory of the Greek Revolution with the bilateral Athens-Washington relationship.
More specifically, in her post on March 25, US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle says that “in 1821, with the slogan ‘Freedom or Death’, the Greeks paved the way to independence,” placing particular emphasis on the symbolism of the Struggle and its historical footprint.
In the same message, the US Ambassador to Greece noted that “two centuries later, the relationship between our two great peoples, based on faith, freedom and patriotic love, is alive and well and constantly growing.”
“I wish all Greeks a happy and prosperous Independence Day and look forward to all that we will achieve together in the coming year,” adds Kimberly Guilfoyle.
