“To continue the work of the heroes of 1821 with memory and responsibility for an even stronger Greece is the greatest honour for their historic struggle…” These words are included in the message of the Speaker of the Parliament, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis, on the national anniversary of March 25, which our country celebrates today.
As Mr. Nikos Kaklamanis said in his message, “205 years after the beginning of the Greek Revolution, we commemorate today the struggle of a people who dared, claimed and achieved freedom and national dignity. The Greeks of 1821, with faith, courage and self-denial, proved that the desire for independence can overcome any difficulty and adverse conditions.
Nikitas Kaklamanis: Let us all reflect on our responsibility towards history and with a view to unity
He also noted that “at this time we live in an environment of constant international geopolitical and not only geopolitical challenges. This is why the message of the Revolution remains more relevant than ever. Let us all reflect on our responsibility towards history and, in the spirit of unity, defend the values of our homeland. To continue the work of the heroes of 1821 with memory and responsibility for an even stronger Greece is the greatest honour for their historical struggle.”
