The 89-year-old man accused of the armed attack at the NFKA and the Court of First Instance will be brought before the investigating judge at 1pm today for his plea, after being given a deadline to prepare his defence.

The defendant charged with three felonies and six misdemeanors allegedly states that he had no homicidal intent and that if he wanted to kill employees, he would have targeted them and not shot them on the ground.

As he appears to have told the officers, what he wanted to achieve was to create “noise” to resolve the issue of his claim for an increase in the pension he was receiving in Greece as a foreign pensioner, which had been ruled illegal.

Three felonies and a number of misdemeanors are included in the prosecution against the perpetrator
