The investigators of the Fire Department have arrested a 56-year-old man for causing a fire by negligence in the area of Platana in the municipality of Kimi-Aliveri, in Evia.
As it became known from the Fire Brigade, the arrested, on 12:48, caused a fire while burning branch residues in a farmland without taking the prescribed fire safety measures, resulting in the fire getting out of control and threatening adjacent land.
According to the same sources, the mobilization of the investigating officers of the Fire Brigade was immediate and after the investigation of the case by the competent investigating services of the Fire Brigade, the self-incrimination procedure was followed by order of the public prosecutor and an administrative fine of 1.031,25 euros.
As noted by the Fire Brigade, the Fire Brigade and the investigative services of the PS remain in full operational readiness, with constant checks and immediate accountability in cases of violations of the law.
