Two people were killed by a drone in northern Oman, the sultanate’s state media reported today, as Iran continues its attacks on Gulf countries in retaliation for US-Israeli strikes against it.

“Two drones crashed in Sohar governorate. One of them crashed in Al Awahi industrial zone causing the death of two foreign workers and injuring several other people. The second crashed in an open area without causing any casualties,” Oman News Agency reported, citing a source in the security forces.

It also noted that it destroyed five drones in the Rubb al-Hali and al-Harz area where the Prince Sultan Air Base, where US military personnel are stationed, is located.

A building in central Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, was hit by debris caused by the interception of a missile, city authorities said.

“Authorities have confirmed that debris from successful interceptions caused a minor incident on the facade of a building in central Dubai,” they pointed out to X, adding that there were no reports of casualties.

The Emirates’ anti-aircraft defences have intercepted more than 1,500 Iranian drones and nearly 300 missiles since the start of the war on February 28.

Yesterday, Thursday, a drone crashed near Dubai’s financial district.

Iran has threatened to attack financial centers in the Gulf region, which has prompted some companies to remove their staff from the region, while the United Arab Emirates, like other countries in the Gulf region, is under constant Iranian fire.

Dubai’s airport, one of the world’s largest, has been repeatedly targeted, as has the city’s port and the man-made Palm Jumeirah island with its luxury residences and the Burj al-Arab hotel.
