Eight children have been killed in a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, US media reported, citing local police.
The children killed in the incident ranged in age from 1 to 14, Shreveport police department spokesman Christopher Bordelon told NBC television network. The person is believed to have been the gunman who occupied a car after the shooting and died after police opened fire on the vehicle during a pursuit, Bordelon told NBC.
Police have not released any information about the man in question, but Bordelon told NBC that some of the children killed “were his descendants.”
