Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said yesterday Monday that he had “a very positive conversation” with US envoys Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner, praising their readiness to work in the coming weeks to end the war.

It was “a very positive discussion,” Zelensky said in a Telegram post on his return to Kiev from London, where he held talks with the leaders of Britain, France and Germany.

“I am grateful for their readiness to work as actively as possible in the coming weeks in order to give diplomacy a boost with the aim of ending Russia’s war against Ukraine,” Zelensky stressed.

The Ukrainian president told Whitcoff and Kushner that he understood that the attention of international public opinion is mainly focused on Iran, adding that “our common goal of peace in Europe remains on the agenda.” He also said he discussed with US envoys the prospect of talks at the upcoming G7 summit in the French resort of Evian, and thanked the US for its “positive assessment of Ukraine’s positions.”
