US President Donald Trump launched a new attack today on US NATO allies for not supporting the US-Israel war against Iran, calling longtime US allies “cowards”.

“Without the US, NATO IS A HARD TIGER!” wrote Trump in a social media post.

Trump has asked major US allies and others, none of whom he has consulted or consulted about the war, to help shield shipping security through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran closed after the US-Israeli attack began.

The US President complains that NATO countries don’t want to join the war against Iran, yet they still complain about high oil prices.

“Now that the battle has been WON militarily, with very little risk to them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but they don’t want to help open the Straits of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the sole reason for the high oil prices. So easy for them to do it, with so little risk,” he wrote. “DO IT, and you’re going to HATE it!” he continued.

Germany, Britain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan and Canada pledged in a joint statement issued yesterday to join forces in “appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Straits”.

However, German Chancellor Friedrich Murch made it clear that this requires an end to hostilities.

French President Emmanuel Macron said after a European Union summit in Brussels that defending international law and promoting de-escalation is “the best we can do,” adding: “I have not heard anyone here express a willingness to enter this war – quite the opposite.”
