U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and the U.S. delegation are expected to arrive in Pakistan within the next few hours ahead of talks with Iran, President Donald Trump said in an interview today with the New York Post.
Trump said he is willing to meet with the Iranian leadership himself if progress is made in those negotiations.
A senior Iranian official said Tehran is positively reconsidering its participation in peace talks with the US, but no decision has been made at the moment. According to this source, positive efforts are being made by Pakistan, which has taken on the role of mediator, to end the US blockade of Iranian ports and ensure Iran’s participation in the negotiations.
A Pakistani source noted that the 15-day ceasefire ends on April 22, at 8pm US East Coast time (03.00 a.m., April 23, GMT).
