US President Donald Trump said today that the US may have to hit Iran with even greater intensity. “We’ll see what happens,” he said at a graduation ceremony at the Coast Guard Academy in Connecticut. “We hit them very hard. We may have to hit them even harder … But maybe we won’t,” he added.
“We will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. It’s very simple,” he stressed.
Claiming that the navy and air force of the Iranian armed forces have been wiped out, Trump said the only question is whether the US will decide to finish the job by launching a new wave of attacks against Iran, or whether Tehran will reach an agreement that Washington will approve.
“Their navy was wiped out. Their air force was wiped out. Almost everything. The only question is: Are we going to end it or are they going to sign a document? Let’s see what happens,” President Trump said.
Earlier today, the US president said negotiations with Iran were in their final stages, threatening Tehran with a new wave of attacks if it fails to reach an agreement on their nuclear program.
