The fire that broke out this morning in a first-floor apartment on Stratou Avenue, in Thessaloniki, has been brought under full control.

According to the Fire Brigade, two young people were rescued from the apartment and are in good health and did not need to be taken to hospital.

Fifteen firefighters with five vehicles operated at the scene, while a crane vehicle was also called in. At the same time, floors of the building were evacuated as a precautionary measure, as a petrol station operates on the ground floor.

The causes of the fire are being investigated by the Fire Brigade Investigation Department.
