A 76-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car this morning on Klaydianou Street in the centre of Thessaloniki.
According to police, a two-wheeled motorcycle driven by a 22-year-old man, under circumstances under investigation, swerved into the elderly woman as she was crossing the roadway vertically, resulting in her fatal injury.
Police forces and an ambulance of the ambulance service rushed to the scene, while the exact causes and circumstances under which the accident occurred are being investigated by the Thessaloniki Traffic Police Subdirectorate.
The 22-year-old was arrested as part of a preliminary investigation.
