The first excursionists of the Holy Spirit weekend have already started to leave Athens, with traffic gradually increasing on the streets.

It is noted that traffic at the port of Piraeus is increasing, with occupancy rates on the ferries to the Cyclades reaching 90%.

Indicatively, at gate E7 until 07:30, three ship departures to the Cyclades were scheduled. In total, seven sailings to the Cyclades and other island destinations are scheduled until 09:30.

According to Port Authority officials and ferry company officials, passenger traffic is at a very high level, with most ships departing almost full.

The heaviest traffic is expected to be in the afternoon, as that is when excursionists who work until noon and have not secured an extra day of leave will leave. From midday onwards, a dozen more services are scheduled to the Cyclades, Dodecanese and other island destinations in the country.

The weekend’s revellers have the ally of good weather, unlike the May Day weekend when the country was hit by bad weather.
