The three-day Holy Spirit weekend, combined with high temperatures and favourable weather conditions, gave thousands of citizens the opportunity to escape from everyday life and enjoy moments of relaxation.

The outflow of excursionists was particularly high both on major roads and at ports, as many chose to travel to islands and mainland destinations for the three-day weekend.

At the same time, many residents of the capital stayed in Athens and sought coolness on the nearby coast of Attica. On Saturday, May 30, the beaches were filled with bathers who rushed to enjoy the sun and the sea, creating images that reminded them of the heart of summer.

Among the most popular choices were the beaches of Alimos and Flisvos, where large crowds were recorded early on.

Sunbeds, umbrellas, games in the sea and a summer mood made up the backdrop on the beaches of Attica, with many taking advantage of the high temperatures for what was essentially the first summer swim of the season.
