At least 10 people were killed and about 60 others injured as a result of a fire that broke out yesterday Friday at an auto parts manufacturing plant in Dejong City, South Korea, according to Yonhap News Agency.

More than 200 firefighters with 90 vehicles rushed to the scene of the blaze and made hours-long efforts to bring the large fire under control at the factory, which is located 140 kilometers southwest of the capital Seoul.

At the time the fire broke out, about 170 workers were on the premises. Some jumped out of building windows to escape the flames.

The cause of the fire remains unclear so far.
