The majority of foreign authors who publish their books with Grasset announced today, in a joint text, that they will not send their next works for publication by this publishing house, following the removal of managing director Olivier Nora.
“As authors of works included in the international catalogue of the Grasset publishing house, we express our deep concern about the future of the publishing house, its editorial integrity and the teams that manage it,” the authors say in the text, which was obtained by the French Agency.
“We refuse to have our work used in the service of political causes that we do not share. The far right acts across borders — it must be fought across borders. In these circumstances, we will not send our next works [for publication] to Grasset publishing house,” they add.
