Russian attack damaged industrial, port and energy facilities in Ukraine’s Black Sea region of Odessa overnight, causing electricity supply problems in several settlements in the southern part of the region, a local official said today.
District Governor Oleh Kipper said via a Telegram post that the fires that broke out were quickly extinguished. He added that no one was injured in the attack.
According to him, critical infrastructure is running on backup power supply.
The mayor of the city of Ismail, Ukraine’s largest port on the Danube located across the river from Romania, said the city was subjected to a “massive” Russian drone attack overnight.
Structures and residential buildings were damaged in the attack, the mayor said on social media. The Romanian Defence Ministry said today it was searching for shrapnel from drones that reportedly fell near the village of Plauru on the opposite bank of the Danube from Ukraine following a Russian night attack.
In parallel, Russian anti-aircraft forces shot down 206 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 43 in the Moscow region, the Interfax news agency reported today.
