The war in the Middle East is significantly disrupting global energy supplies and has caused the most serious energy crisis in 40 years, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said today.

“In the context of the current conflict in the Middle East, at least 20 million barrels per day are affected. This is the volume of crude oil and petroleum products that were moving daily through the Strait of Hormuz until 19 days ago,” Novak said.
