Russia’s Ust-Luga port, one of the most important export points for Russian oil, was damaged today in a Ukrainian attack by unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) that caused a fire, the governor of the northern Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko said in a Telegram post.

A total of 36 drones were shot down over the region, Drozdenko added.

The Ust-Luga, which is operated by Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft, handles around 700.000 barrels per day of oil exports, and, according to sources, 32.9 million tonnes of oil products left there in 2025.

Ukraine regularly conducts attacks on Russian oil export facilities and Russian oil refineries in an attempt to weaken Moscow’s war economy.
