A Russian military court today sentenced former Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Popov to 19 years in prison for corruption, the Russian news agency RIA reported, in one of a series of criminal cases that have shaken the highest echelons of the Russian armed forces’ command.
The 69-year-old Popov was arrested in the summer of 2024 for corruption related to the construction of a theme military park near Moscow.
