This Thursday morning, a ship was reportedly hit by an “unknown missile” near Ras Lafan, Qatar.

According to CNN, citing the UK Maritime Operations Service (UKMTO), the ship was reportedly hit 4 nautical miles east of Ras Lafan, the energy hub that has been in Iran’s sights for the past 12 hours.

All crew are safe and well, the UKMTO said.

A second ship was hit overnight

This is the second report of a ship being hit in or near the Persian Gulf overnight.

According to the UKMTO, which has jurisdiction over the region, a ship was reportedly struck off the coast of the United Arab Emirates near the Strait of Hormuz late on Wednesday.
