US President Donald Trump said tonight that he rules out any “ceasefire” in Iran, as three weeks since the war began will be marked tomorrow, Saturday.
“I don’t want a ceasefire. You know, you don’t have a cease-fire when you literally annihilate the enemy,” he told reporters as he departed the White House for Florida.
When asked if Israel would be ready to end the war after the US concludes its military action in Iran, he replied “I think so.”
On opening the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said it needs “a lot of help” and commented that “it would be nice” if countries like China and Japan were involved.
“At some point, it will open on its own,” he added.
Referring moreover to the British government’s decision to allow the use of its bases in the UK to launch strikes on Iran’s missile facilities, he said London should have been quicker to offer its help.
