In Thessaloniki, they were implemented in the A’ Community of Kendro, the C’ Community of Kendro, the D’ Community of Kato Toumba, the E’ Community of Analipsi, the Municipal Unit of Triandria and Kalamaria.
The PPC Mini Parks are modern recreational and green spaces that offer a unique experience for visitors of all ages, contributing locally to the reduction of temperature, as well as improving the quality of life of the residents.
The PPC has undertaken the design, construction and maintenance of the 23 PPC Mini Parks across the country, which were implemented in locations selected in cooperation with local municipalities. With an average surface area of 300 square metres, the spaces were designed based on the specific characteristics of each area, so that they are functionally and aesthetically integrated into the urban environment.
The 23 PPC Mini Parks include new urban equipment, a modern irrigation system and upgraded infrastructure that enhance functionality and visitor safety. Specifically, they feature wooden benches, solar benches with USB port, lighting fixtures, water points , as well as special infrastructure such as bird nests and animal waterers, a book exchange area and an activity area for children, creating a welcoming and pleasant environment for young and old alike.
A key element of PPC Mini Parks is also planting, with a variety of trees, shrubs, ornamental and climbing plants that create small green oases in the city, enhance biodiversity and contribute to reducing temperatures. At the same time, the modern irrigation system ensures proper maintenance and durability of the plantings throughout the year.
Focusing on sustainable development and supporting local communities, PPC implements initiatives that enhance public space and contribute to improving the quality of life of their residents.
